Waihi Beach real estate

Waihī Beach is a coastal town at the western end of the Bay of Plenty — sun, sand and sea, with a mix of permanent and holiday residents. Western Bay of Plenty District Council notes it is a popular retirement and summer holiday place, and that the beach community extends to Bowentown at its southern end, with Athenree across the estuary. Amenities include the town centre, the Waihī Beach cycle trail (an informal extension of the Hauraki Rail Trail), the Trig Trail walk, and the Waihī Beach Service Centre and Library.

Statistics NZ’s estimated resident population for Waihī Beach–Bowentown was 2,620 at 30 June 2025.
